Kalpetta in wayanad is like a town smack right in the middle of the district. Around it you got many many many places to visit.
we three(Krishna, Murali), rather tired/lazy 'techies' with two of them being 'ladies' who sleep till late, get dressed late, accomplished just about 2 full places.
0.25 banasurasagar dam.
0.75 Tea plantations in meppady!
2 Suchipara falls!!
it was relaxing and exciting. exactly wat we needed. a road trip, mostly. since we drove for two full days. the return journey made me miss people and life, which is when i took to singing!
DO NOT take the mananthavady->mysore road thru bavali->machur->antharasanthe->hd kote until u hear from people that its been repaired.
a funny/witty post of what we did is here
i will give an idea of what i will see next time i go around that place.
1. Meenmutti falls (involves mild trek).
2. Chembra peak (involves moderate to heavy trek).
3. Edakkal caves.
4. Kuruva island.
the others places that are too lame (for my current tastes)
1. pookhot lake
2. temples around that place
3. banasurasagar dam (there is apparently some motor boat/speed boat thingy which we dint do)
decent/good food, courteous people, clean homestay(where we were put up), a LOT of tea and forest, the trademark accent. its weird that they assume you know tamil first. even though u talk in kannada! OK, i know i try hindi first, its the national neutral language! (may not be my hindi :P)

She
She knows what she wants but is too scared to admit her unconventional desires; when she does, ensures she gets everything out of it.
She hardly finds 'reason' to trust or respect what she is told, but still accepts it 'conscientiously'.
She rules, dominates, punishes; but at the end of the day sheds a tear for being someone she isn't.
She is passionate, educated, authoritative but very often indecisive and confused about her principles and her natural traits v/s what is expected from her and wat she should accomplish.
She always finds a reason to escape the guilt or wrath by finding something wrong in you.
She lives by 'their' rules but believes in 'her' code and hence lives many a lives.
She manipulates people and circumstances to her advantage and often finds herself doing 'charity'.
She can take crap and be unaffected with it but uses every opportunity to give crap the way it has maximum impact.
She still thinks business is not just about giving exactly what you get; its always about something more or less.
She dresses to kill, wants you to give her the credit she deserves but wishes she dint have to do it.
She judges the world and you by 'her' yardstick, but fails to notice tat her learning of the world is conditioned by parasites called 'associations' growing on the yardstick too...
She doesn't multi task anymore. she ensures you do.
She likes to keep in touch with friends but doesn't cos she shouldn't raise suspicion or attract attention. when she does, she is still found feeling lonely in a crowd.
She saves, she craves and seldom knows what not to share.
She wants to be independent financially and dependent emotionally but very often 'mixes up' finance with emotions.
She demands respect and social acceptance for what she does and says, and needn't necessarily respect you to like you or talk to you.
She is your personalised 'morality/reality' checker and ofcourse, no rules apply to her; she ensures you are constantly reminded of what you 'truly' are.
She is 'the great indian middle class woman'. and she is changing.
