Driving

Why do you see so many dumb people driving around town?
some, like they own the roads;
some, like there is nobody else on the roads;
some, like they are on a mission to save the world from blowing off in seconds;
some, like they honestly dont wanna go back home to their families!

Why is there so much "impatience" on the roads? Is it a reflection of how u generally feel abt your life and other aspects of it? Is it a reflection of how stressed you are and how you might want to take it out on others?

Vehicles are becoming more 'accessible' to people to play around with. Some, buy. Some, work with them (drivers of cabs/autos).Vehicles are also made to be easier to drive these days!

I have always felt that the way a person drives tells you about his attitude towards life and the way he handles people and situations. Why? Because, just like life, on the road, you have to judge people and the situation, take quick decisions based on all the facts you have. Its not exactly all about knowledge or skill. Its about statistics. And not something that can be taught to you. You acquire the knowledge by getting your hands dirty... by being on the road... by mis-judging a few moves...

It takes lot less time for a 'skilled' and experienced driver to judge if a speeding vehicle has the regular 'family man' driver OR if it has a careless 'i dont give a shit about my life' driver at the helm. Agreed, that both are dangerous in general (cos its speeding). But if you are planning to overtake one such vehicle or even move anywhere close to it, statistics say that you are better off with the regular driver than a careless one cos out of the infinite number of possibilities that they both have, a regular driver is not going to take MANY of them. Gives you so much more time to make your move.

Driving well is an art. Know your statistics. There are far too many dumb/uncivilized drivers/riders out there.

"Shots are less painful and less likely to be sore afterwards when you get them in a "fatty" or muscular part of the body. Hence, the reason why many people get shots in one of their bottom cheeks. They are usually done up closer to the hip or back; it's not like you sit there and drop your pants completely off...."

"The muscle in the buttock is larger and it takes longer for the drug to enter the system, so the buttock is used for drugs with a higher concentration that need to be absorbed more slowly by the body, eg.painkillers are usually given in arm, but longer acting like psychatratic drugs and contraceptives are given in the buttock"

Brake oil is good for an open wound. it hurts like hell but it also helps a lot in avoiding infection and helping the healing process...

Pain isnt as much physical as it is psychological or neurological... Pain is a response mechanism to any change in the body, and the cause isnt restricted to physical tissue/muscular damage.

The International Association for the Study of Pain (just a huge set of knowledgeable people trying to make sense out of and treat Pain) defines pain as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage".
the layman definition is: "Pain is whatever the experiencing person says it is, existing whenever he says it does"

so, there you go, i tried to control pain with all the psychological positive thinking and sometimes even with strict instructions to my palm to NOT send signals to my brain to notice/feel the pain, but well, it was overwhelming. and hence i took some painkillers before i ran the risk of going mad in the process (it was a tough one).

and why all these random thoughts? cos a stupid short SOB who never learnt the art of crossing streets in primary school (which is a serious 3 step process.. a. look to ur left b. look to your right c. cross over as soon as possible), decides to stop right in the middle of the road, straight ahead of me in my lane, after slowly starting off draggin his bike from one end... and i remember taking the option among a. hit him and then fall b. brake NOW and fall.

no points for guessing what i did.
i've had many accidents in the past but this one was the silliest.

i also browsed thru some youtube videos about disk/drum brakes and how to identify problems and fix them... :)
